We’ve started taking the first stab at the designs of a few kitchen vignettes in our new showroom. WAIT, WHAT? You didn’t know we were moving? Well… you do now! Read all about it on our Kitchen Design Concepts is MOVING! intro blog and get as excited as we are! And now that you’re all caught up, it’s about time we share some new kitchen inspiration from some of our working displays! Note: these are NOT final designs, but just our starting point, so you’ll have to come back and check-in for the finished product. *insert winking face emoji here*
A Contemporary Working Kitchen
Some major colorful and exciting kitchen inspiration is the name of the game here. Being the first kitchen most people are going to see in the showroom, we want it to be fun, inviting, and functional. Some things that we’ve definitely decided on are including a Galley Workstation (with all the fixings!), three different cabinet colors and materials, and a stunning Cambria counter covering the island. We’ll finalize some of the more decorative features like faucets and hardware pretty soon and watch this space come together. Here are a few fun things to look for as this kitchen gets finalized:
- Mixed metals (maybe even within the faucets themselves!) in some of our favorite finishes
- Showcasing a few different lighting options – like combining sconces and pendants in a room without it looking crazy
- So many appliances! Considering it’s the largest working kitchen, there will for sure be plenty to check out

With A Modern Breakfast Bar
What’s a good-looking kitchen without an equally good-looking bar? It’s still a good-looking kitchen… but not AS fun to work in. So we’ve put together an overly functional breakfast bar design to enhance the kitchen inspiration you see across the room. With two additional (and still different) cabinet finishes, and a matte counter surface, this space will speak for itself. Segmented into three different spaces, we will be able to show you one of our most common questions in modern designs: what is channel cabinetry? Do you see that middle section framed with a black surround? That piece is a true showstopper ready to answer that question ten-fold. Here are a few more things to get excited about:
- Quarter Sawn White Oak – yes, you read that right! With the popularity of this and Rift Cut coming back, why not?!
- Getting to see what a tall channel cabinet actually looks like in person
- Compare other “handless” options for cabinetry, without having to go to a channel construction (and help save some on budget)

And Don’t Forget The Kitchenette
So not all of our displays can be Texas-sized. This kitchen actually sits closer to the office displays, so it’ll likely also be the one we use the most often internally. But, it’s still a display, and you’ll get to see how tricked out even the smallest wall can get! Inspired by some of the smaller condos we’ve worked in before, we wanted to create a space that holds most of the essentials while still being functional. Think modular cooktop, smaller sink, and a microwave drawer – all of which you can see in the kitchenette below. A few other features we’re hoping to show you are:
- A large pocketed, covered, stackable washer/dryer area just like this laundry room we did a couple of years ago
- Actually showing you a freestanding refrigerator, and some of the pros/cons and design considerations
- Smaller pullout and interior storage items in your cabinets – and what they actually fit
