They say that all good things come full cycle and that is certainly true for the Retro look of this Dallas kitchen. Inspired by a 50s diner, we used diner-esque stainless steel shelves under glass-front cabinetry, incorporated green and blue tiles reminiscent of this time period and even customized a new refrigerator with a retro metal facing. We were also able to re-utilize the clients’ existing diner booths and decoratives to round out the look. The space also received a dramatic improvement in terms of square footage. Although the homeowners were closed in by a small galley layout before, we remodeled the space to make it much more open by bringing the kitchen and adjacent spaces together and raising the ceilings.
