SOUTHLAKE - DALLAS, TX

These homeowners transferred to Texas from Florida and were in need of a family home quick! They found a gem in a suburban neighborhood that fit most of their needs… what was lacking? A functional kitchen!!

With two young kids, they needed a space that could withstand a beating but still feel welcoming when you walk in the space & provide a gathering space to do homework or have a quick afternoon snack

Given the home was built in the mid-90s, there were angled walls everywhere, which made for a challenging spatial design! Another important design element was to incorporate material from Vietnam, where one of the homeowners grew up

With the homeowner being an artist herself, it was crucial to blend textures and finishes to create a space rich not only visually but tactically as well.

In the spatial redesign, it was critical to capture areas that were wasted spaces (i.e., walk-in pantry & auxiliary space to formal dining area) to enlarge the new kitchen and make it something overly functional!
