These homeowners wanted a simple rip-and-replace kitchen redesign to their kitchen and adjacent wet bar. The general layout worked for this family of four, but a few things were required: upgrading to a 36″ range and 48″ of refrigerator/freezer space, creating a more useable pantry and bar space (previously separated by large doors), and creating a space specifically for coffee!

 

Simple white and gray shaker cabinetry is accented by a thickened Nuage Quartzite stone island counter. We even used fall off from the slab to wrap the tiled fireplace hearth in the adjacent living room to tie the spaces together. A 4-foot workstation styled sink basin from Kohler gives enough room to prep and clean up at the end of every meal. The new fridge and freezer columns are placed on an accent wall wrapped in wallpaper for visual interest. Mixed satin brass and matte black hardware compliments the brass and black sconces above existing windows while stainless faucets match the appliances. A bifold lift up cabinet creates a hidden coffee niche to hide away during evening parties, and keep the counters clean. Bar cabinets are pulled away from the wall to create room to store liquors out in the open for easy entertaining.
