UNIVERSITY PARK - DALLAS, TX

An impeccably done rip-and-replace, this kitchen – and surrounding spaces – were almost perfectly placed. A few big things on the wish list were to update the cabinetry to take them to the ceiling, create a more transitional design, add more cool storage (including a built in wine column), and increase the island space to include 4 seats for better entertaining. Transom uppers lighten the space, and a small drop desk was still included to keep a family hub center. A built in television is easily viewable for guests at the island, and can pivot out while prepping or cleaning by the sink. A new stained banquette was built to formalize the breakfast space, and move the table closer to the wall, and the wet bar and fireplace surround were updated simultanously to match the new kitchen cabinetry.

The half bath – which is the only guest bathroom downstairs, was revived to match the updates made in the adjacent rooms. The original cabinets were already a unique metallic color, so we kept those in tact as an original charm to the home. We replaced the counters – to match the fun firplace surround – and a more subtle wallpaper was installed floor to ceiling. The existing vessel sink was reused, while the faucet, mirror, hardware and accessories are all new.
