Planning for a remodel
The initial planning phase is by far the most important step in any kitchen, bathroom, or home remodeling project. This pre-construction phase is the time where we lay the groundwork for a successful remodel.
At Kitchen Design Concepts, the majority of our work takes place before the hammer is even lifted. From home visits to concepting, measurements, and scenario validations, we ensure every single detail is finalized before we even think about gutting your existing space.
Home Visit
At your initial home visit, we will take preliminary measurements of your space, have you complete the Lifestyle Questionnaire (if you haven’t already), and open the floor for any questions you and your family have about the process.
Initial Design
The initial design stage is when our homeowners typically begin to get excited. This is when we provide you with a floor plan with concepts and zones, as well as elevations. We will also give you a cabinet preview, and we’ll talk about your style preferences for the space.Â
Construction Walk-Through
At this phase, we’re working hard to make your dream a reality. We will take technical measurements of your space, ensure the interior designs “fit” as they should, and talk about any options or alternatives as needed. We will also conduct a full scope assessment, and have our teams do a structural and utilities review – to ensure electrical, plumbing, and any other systems are able to incorporate the new design.
Finalize Design
At this point in the remodeling process, we finalize your design! This is just as fun as the initial design. We will provide a scenario validation so that you can see how the final space will look. You’ll see cabinet styles, wood species, and finishes, as well as appliances. We will finalize the design and interior design concepts, and will provide you with a full proposal.Â
Project Commitment
At this point, you’re halfway there! The project commitment phase is when we will execute the contract and order your cabinets.
Set Up a Temporary Kitchen
If this is a kitchen remodeling project, you will receive our special Kitchen Care Package! We don’t want you to go without cooking through the duration of your project, so we ensure you’re well-equipped to make your favorite meals on-the-fly. Just think of it like camping, only indoors!Â
Material Selection
This is the gooey filling in the cookie – and when you get to select all of your materials! From countertops to backsplashes, flooring, paints, fixtures, and other amenities, this is one of homeowners’ favorite parts of the experience.
Next up, demolition and construction!
You’ll notice that most of our work happens before we start gutting your existing space – the way it should be. We meticulously plan every single detail so that the project goes as quickly and seamless as possible. Once the full plan is in place, we begin demolition and construction.
