Our local National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) Texas North Plains Chapter hosted its 3rd annual Kitchen + Bath Awards (KABA) this past October. It coincided with their 10th annual Kitchen + Bath Month Event held at the Dallas Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove showroom on October 19, 2022. We try to submit projects every year. This time around, we were able to present two amazing designs. One kitchen and one bath. We’re excited to share that we won an award in both categories to which we submitted! Let’s introduce those two designs to you below.
Contemporary Kitchen – Small
A 1957 home in Casa Linda was contemporary with a contrastingly cold and sterile-looking kitchen. Loving the existing clean lines, the homeowner needed to add warmth to this space. We restained the cabinets, installed new quartz counters, and added a stunning backsplash. We also converted a stainless apron sink base to accept a cleaner-looking undermount. Floating shelves were incorporated for additional storage, and to keep the light and airy feel. We also replaced distracting pendants with lower-profile fixtures. Feel free to “ooh” and “ahh” over this award winner below!

Contemporary Bath – Large
This 1962 home had already been renovated through the years. The homeowners included their midcentury modern style throughout the house, but the bathrooms were the last to go. We completed demolished this primary bathroom, primary closet, and surrounding hall closets to start afresh. Then, we flipped the vanity and closet areas to better utilize overall square footage, and maximize clear floor space. Cabinetry? Make them natural wood and make them float. Then we addressed the color scheme. Black, white, natural, and the clients’ favorite color – blue – encompass the room. This award winner was such a fun project. Check it out!
