DALLAS LUXURY MEETS FUNCTIONAL DESIGN

We interviewed several kitchen remodeling companies but ultimately went with Kitchen Design Concepts (KDC) to design and remodel our kitchen. It’s always difficult finding and hiring services that will take the same meticulous care and passion on your home like you would yourself, but Kitchen Design Concepts met and exceeded our expectation. We absolutely love our new and improved kitchen remodel and makeover. From initial introductory meeting with Mary-Kathryn, to working with KDC kitchen designer Rebecca and their general contractor Mike, the entire project went seamlessly and finished on-time.

We loved working with Rebecca on the kitchen design. She really listened to our needs and offered several different design ideas and elements to fit our large family’s needs. She also gave us a sense of the latest kitchen trends and provided fresh ideas that helped make our kitchen unique and truly ours. The 3D CAD modeling Rebecca created helped visualize all aspects of the kitchen remodel and made us comfortable with tweaks before final design lock. We were so amazed with her 3D kitchen rendering that at our request she also redesigned our pantry, wine bar area and even our mudroom.

Working with KDC’s general contractor Mike was a breath of fresh air. He was always responsive to our concerns, questions and needs, and always kept us informed of important project milestones. He was consistently onsite to coordinate and followup on contractors’ work and made sure every aspect of the kitchen, wine bar and mudroom projects didn’t miss a beat. We also had Kitchen Design Concepts re-surface and re-stain our entire downstairs and upstairs hardwood floors, which Mike personally oversaw (Rebecca helped pick floor stain color). His detailed knowledge of our projects, and responsiveness and friendly demeanor made working with Mike a joy and pleasure. We also liked KDC’s hired contractors, particularly the cabinet install guys, painters and counter top contractors.

Our kitchen remodel was a complete tear down of the old and rebuild of a new kitchen which included all new kitchen cabinets, removal of butler’s pantry in place of a complete redesigned pantry and creation of separate coffee room, all new kitchen appliances, new kitchen island, beautiful new counter tops and one of kind backsplash. It is now our most favorite room in the house. The mudroom was completely redone to make it more usable for our large family and our wine bar area transformed. KDC has a motto “no regrets” and we can say without a doubt we have none…we love our new spaces. I can’t say enough good things about Kitchen Design Concepts, their work and their people. I highly recommend them for any kitchen remodel project, large or small. Or any other remodel project for that matter.

Kitchen Design Concepts recently completed a major renovation of my kitchen, living room and dining room. The results exceeded my expectations. I could not be happier with both the functionality and the aesthetic. My kitchen is both beautiful to look at and a pleasure to cook in. I particularly appreciate KDCs planning and design process. Rebecca was exceptional and worked to get every aspect of the design just right. Everyone involved in the project was great to work with and any questions or concerns I had were always quickly addressed. Thank you Mary-Kathryn and Jennifer for my dream kitchen!

An amazing experience from start to finish! The KDC Team has amazing vision and flawless follow through. They met with us to discuss designs and presented multiple options until it looked perfect. Then came the construction and they nailed it. From the budget to the move-in date and the feedback along the way. Their team and product is second to none.

KDC team did a great job on our kitchen remodel. I have referred them to several friends looking for a designer/contractor.

Having our primary suite remodeled by KDC was one of the smartest and most enjoyable experiences we’ve had. This project lived in our heads for 10 years but was brought to life by the team at KDC. The project got off to a quick start from the first meeting with Mary Kathryn Reese and our designer Katie Bacon, to meeting Mike Thompson our project manager, and all the sub-contractors. Mike made sure the project was clean, the subs were professional, and communication was excellent. We especially loved that Mike provided several tools designed to keep us updated every step of the way.

Katie Bacon was wonderful at bringing our many design ideas into focus and steering us to one that was beautiful and which made sense in our home. Katie has a gift for listening and translating all the elements which go into a remodel and make it look easy. We were so very thankful for her creative ideas, suggestions, communication and input throughout the project as well as always being mindful of our budget.

Truthfully this KDC project far exceeded our expectations. We wholeheartedly recommend Kitchen Design Concepts.

KDC killed it! We are so in love with our kitchen and could not be happier with the hard work and dedication of Mary Kathryn, Ed, Rebecca, Jennifer and Katie (as well as all the other countless members of their team).  We had been contemplating a kitchen redesign from the moment we bought our house, but found the process completely overwhelming, as we were doing a full gut and remake of our kitchen into an open floor dining/kitchen/living space. We had interviewed several contractors, and KDC was not the cheapest, but I believe the best. From the moment we met Mary Kathryn, we knew we were in good hands- she had a very structured and detailed approach that seemed to combat our previous concerns about nightmare remodel projects we had done in the past. My spouse and I are both very opinionated, detailed, (and unfortunately, indecisive!) and we were running up against a very tight timeline (arrival of our first baby) so we knew we had to get this right, and have a team in place that could move quickly and help the two of us navigate our sometimes wildly differing opinions on how the kitchen should look and feel. The scope of our project got bigger and bigger, and so the team was able to adapt and make some game time changes to accommodate us. Overall, KDC was very responsive, professional, and dedicated to getting it right. My spouse is an amateur woodworker, and so he was extremely particular about the look and quality of the walnut cabinetry- at one point KDC mentioned he could fly out to Canada and personally inspect each cabinet panel if he really wanted (let’s just say me, his very pregnant partner, was not very keen on this), but that goes to show the level of commitment that they took to make sure we were satisfied. We were also very happy with the GC Ed, who surprised us in many ways by working super hard on the weekend or after hours to make sure we stayed on track with our deadline. Once we came home from a short weekend away and found that the entire floor had been laid a week ahead of schedule because he and the team had taken the time to do work on the weekend. Rebecca, who did the main design and layout, was relentless in making sure we had the right flow and dimensions- and entertained some of our wild ideas, while also pulling us down to earth when we needed it! Even several months after the project completed, we had a problem with a couple of our drawers, they immediately addressed the problem, and definitely stand behind their work. I find this odd to say about a contractor, but I actually missed them when the project was over, and we look forward to working together on something else in the future.

Our sincere thanks and appreciation to the entire KDC team! They recently finished a fantastic makeover of our 1964 New England style home in Dallas and we couldn’t be happier! The remodeled kitchen and bathrooms are otherworldly, and the rest of the work they completed in our home is superb (hardwood floors, fireplaces, wallpaper, woodwork and even the exterior). We basically ended up with a new home… all while preserving the charm of the home with a nod to its era over 50 years ago. Special shout-outs to Mary Katherine for her excellent communication with us along the way (fun update lunches over burgers) and to Ed McDaniel and his A Team in the field that took a big project from start to finish, providing superb results and lots of fun along the way. From Victor our main carpenter, to the Salgado brothers who painted, to Jose and the electrical team…. Ed and all his guys knew how to get things done and kept in complete touch along the way. I never would have told you that moving out of our house for several months and doing a major renovation would be fun… but I have to tell you, it really was! We couldn’t be happier and we smile every time we walk in the front door. Exquisite work and nice people to work with! Thank you!
