A friend of mine recently told me about this clever herb garden he made to supply his kitchen with fresh herbs for cooking. He was nice enough to share the easy details and so I am happy to pass them along to you. Enjoy and happy cooking!

Get a pallet (available from a home improvement store or just about any big box retailer who brings in merchandise on pallets) and spray paint it any color you choose. Next, staple weed cloth across the bottom and back of the pallet. Fill with dirt and herbs and leave horizontal for a few days for the roots to take hold. This one is planted with two types of basil, two types of mint, parsley, lavender and a few ornamental ground cover plants to anchor the soil and add color and interest.
