We started this series with A Kitchen For: Kids and now we bring you a kitchen for man’s best friend. That’s right, we designed this kitchen with our four-legged friends in mind. This kitchen had to withstand the constant wear and tear of the home-owners four dogs. This dog-friendly and easy to clean kitchen has details and finishes that coordinate with the remainder of the house. The simple, clean look uses contemporary materials while maintaining a soft look.
Pet-friendly materials were used to endure playful canine paws and wagging tails. We used hardwood floors with a wax finish, washable flat paint, and buffed stainless steal legs on the island. White subway tiles were used for the backsplash and a stainless steel range backsplash with a sunrise pattern.
A large corner cabinet with a lazy susan houses the dog food and medications. All of the dog related items are out of view but still close at hand.
The gorgeous organic color palette and thoughtful design is sure to make this home-owner and their furry friends happy. For more information on this wonderful kitchen check out our article in House and Home and People + Places!
