A Kitchen For: Families

By Mary Kathryn Reese

Next in our series is a kitchen designed for a family of seven. This beautiful yet functional space is sure to be enjoyed by the entire family. The main focal point of the kitchen is the gorgeous slate wall along the back. The slate tiles cover the entire wall, drawing your eye through the kitchen.

For this family, seating is important. We created a large space perpendicular to the main working island that can accommodate seating for seven. Now the entire family can eat, socialize, and relax in the kitchen at the same time.

This mom loves to cook so we gave her a stainless steel counter-top along the outer walls. This material is durable and easy to clean. Cabinets placed above the work space make finding the right utensils a breeze!

Since this kitchen has minimal wall storage, creative storage solutions were implemented as well as an ample amount of cabinets under the countertop.
